Römheld Rivi at the Fakuma: The expert for high-temperature magnetic clamping Technology Noticeable increase in demand for quick mould clamping technology up to 240 °Cmore

At the Fakuma, Römheld Rivi GmbH will focus on magnetic clamping plates for clamping moulds at high temperatures. The joint venture founded last year by ROEMHELD and its long-standing partner Rivi Magnetics S.r.l. reacts to the noticeable increase in interest in the flexible quick-clamping technology for working temperatures above 120 °C. The company registers an increased demand both for original equipment by machine manufacturers and for retrofitting by users. Römheld Rivi will be presenting...

Clamping of delicate workpieces without warping for precise processing

For the manufacture of valve housings for passenger car transmissions, a large German carmaker ordered a production line comprising four processing stations including the associated equipment from GROB Werke in Mindelheim. If conventional clamping with standard components had been applied, the workpieces would have been deformed; sufficiently accurate processing within close tolerances would not have been possible.more

The solution were position-flexible clamping elements precisely adjusted to the application.
"Conventional tool clamping on three fixed rests plus an additional support perpendicularly to the surface to be processed does not work, since the autostability of the components is not sufficient", Key Account Manager Dietmar Wahl from ROEMHELD, the clamping technology specialist company with headquarters in Laubach, Hessen, sums up the starting situation in retrospect. The workpieces would be...

Machine vice meets a world first

Machine vice meets a world firstmore

Since 2014, the Uwe Krumm Burbach GmbH (UKB) uses the first CNC 5-axis milling centre DMF 600 linear from DMG Mori delivered to Europe in the production of complex edging tools and in contract manufacturing. The innovation, presented at the EMO 2013 as a world first, with a six-meter machine bed and a rotary table is designed for a workpiece weight of up to ten tonnes. Clamping of workpieses at UKB for all processings and on all 14 milling machines is made with only two types of vices,...
