Friedrichshütte is the nucleus of the ROEMHELD Group and one of the oldest industrial companies in Germany still active today. Count Friedrich Ernst zu Solms founded it in 1707 and Julius Römheld leased it in 1870. This was the beginning of the success story of today's group of companies. A few years later, Römheld opened an ironworks, in 1948 the machine factory and iron foundry A. Römheld KG was established.
The approximately 30 employees of the foundry produce mainly complex components made of grey iron and nodular iron in batches of 1 to 20,000 pieces. The customers, who frequently order completely machined and assembled components, are primarily from the mechanical engineering, automotive and traffic engineering sectors.
